Statement ref Hepatitis A
Telford & Wrekin Council has issued the following statement on behalf of Old Park Primary school.
A council spokesman said: “The school is following the advice of health experts at Public Health England to limit the risk of infection spread. This includes carrying out enhanced cleaning and ensuring good hand washing is practiced by the children, especially after going to the toilet and before eating. The school is also working closely with PHE and the local NHS and local authority to arrange immunisation for members of the school and nursery.
“Parents have been kept fully informed and the school has been very impressed by the positive response from parents, pupils and staff. We would like to reassure people that this issue is being dealt with calmly and professionally and that the welfare of all the children at the school is our number one priority as always.”
