Southwater welcomes futuristic walk-in sculpture

The Mirazozo luminarium offers a dazzling maze of winding paths and soaring domes where Islamic architecture, Archimedean solids and Gothic cathedrals meld into an inspiring monument to the beauty of light and colour, and where visitors can happily loose themselves.

Throughout the Bank Holiday weekend (27–31 August) visitors to Southwater will be greeted by the space-ship-like installation which will “land” on the grass area outside Wildwood and Mimosa.

Architects of Air sculptures have been wowing audiences for 23 years, in 41 countries across the globe, including visiting Telford Town Park 10 years ago.

Councillor Liz Clare, Cabinet Member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “We’re really excited to be hosting the luminarium in Southwater this summer.

“The installation offers a unique experience for visitors. The luminarium creates an amazing world of light and subtle and saturated hues.

“I would encourage everyone with a Telford Loyalty Card to get booking as soon as possible.”
