Essential maintenance works fit around school opening
Highway maintenance works on Priorslee Avenue in Telford have been scheduled to reflect the opening of the new Holy Trinity Academy.

The work involves making repairs to the road surface, kerbs and manhole covers. Contractors will also remove the block paving features near the shops and Teece Drive which have become a hazard to road users.
To minimise disruption, the work will be carried out using Stop/Go boards and there is no intention to close roads or restrict access to side roads.
Contractor availability meant that some of the work was brought forward which started (20 AUG) earlier than the planned start date of 24 August.
The carriageway works along Priorslee Avenue, between Priorslee Roundabout and Teece Drive, should be completed by Friday 4 September prior to the school opening the following week.
The remaining work between Teece Drive and Castle Farm Way will be completed outside of peak traffic times from Monday 7 September. This will allow school and other traffic the access needed during peak times. All work is expected to be complete by Friday 18th September.
Councillor Angela McClements, cabinet member for Communities, Regeneration and Transport, said: “This essential maintenance scheme is part of our programme of investment in local roads to improve our infrastructure which includes taking action to prepare our roads before the winter sets in.
“I’m happy to say that this time we have been able to work with our contractors to reach a mutually agreeable solution which will lessen the impact of the works on the opening of the Holy Trinity Academy and the existing Priorslee Primary Academy.
“I thank residents for their patience while these essential repairs are undertaken.”
