Retail vacancies at jobs fair
Telford & Wrekin Council’s Job Box service will host a retail jobs fair this weekend, 18–19 September, in Telford Shopping Centre.
Following the success of the two sector-wide jobs fairs held by Job Box in March 2014 and 2015, as well as a smaller jobs fair last September, this retail jobs fair will showcase vacancies on behalf of local employers.
The Job Box team will be on hand on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September to promote local vacancies, as well as to offer assistance and advice to those looking for work. They will be at Telford Shopping Centre (in Deans Square, outside Primark), between 9am-5pm.
The Job Box brings together employment and skills services which offer assistance and guidance for residents of all ages looking for work and training in Telford and Wrekin.
Councillor Gilly Reynolds, cabinet member for Employment and Skills, said: “This smaller style jobs fair proved very popular with local job seekers last year.
“We’ve already got nearly 200 retail vacancies to showcase this weekend, with a mixture between permanent and temporary positions offering a variety of hours.
“We’ve got plans for further sector-specific fairs offering job opportunities, including the care sector and catering jobs next month.”
Everyone is welcome to come along to the jobs fair, whether looking for short-term positions, longer-term employment or seeking guidance on work or training opportunities.
