Last chance to apply for Pride In Your High Streets fund
Now is the last chance to apply for Telford & Wrekin’s £1 million Pride in Your High Street Fund which closes to applications on Wednesday 30th at midnight.

The Pride in Your High Street fund is open to bids from any organisations to support designated areas in: Dawley, Donnington, Hadley, Ironbridge, Madeley, Newport, Oakengates, St Georges and Wellington.
Launched in mid May the fund has sparked much enthusiasm and interest.
The Pride in Your High Streets Fund encourages groups to work together to greatly benefit a town or centre although single organisation applications are accepted.
The £1m fund, part of the Council’s Pride in Your Community initiative, is split into two parts. The first part of the fund, a total of £800,000, is open to projects focussed on:
• Increasing footfall in a high street or centre
• Bringing a new service or function to a high street or centre
• Making a high street or centre cleaner and more pleasant
• Extending established operating hours of a high street or centre, for example at evenings or weekends
• Creating or protecting jobs
• Bringing redundant or empty buildings back into use
The second part of the fund is a £200,000 Innovation Fund. For this, the Council will be seeking applications from groups in the same areas who wish to develop innovative ideas that will encourage wider community involvement.
This part of the fund would help support projects, activities and events that promote the borough towns as destinations, highlighting their distinctive and individual attractions.
Decisions on what schemes will be successful will be made in January 2016 with grants awarded soon after.
Anyone wanting to find out more about the fund can email highstreetprideenquiry@telford.gov.uk, visit www.telford.gov.uk/highstpride or by calling 01952 567589.
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Business, Neighbourhood and Customer Services said; “The Pride in Your High Streets fund has attracted a lot of interest in the community and I would urge anyone considering applying to get your bid in before midnight on Wednesday September 30.”
