Ice Rink launches new money-saving membership packages
Telford Ice Rink has launched two new skating membership packages aimed at saving customers money – with the options to pay cash and by direct debit.
The new packages are Premium Skate and Premium Skate Plus and benefits included access to unlimited skating on all public sessions, holiday skate sessions and all club sessions.
Even more benefits are to be gained with the Premium Skate Plus package such as public swimming, off peak badminton and tennis.
Everyone that joins and pays via direct debit benefits from a free Telford Loyalty Card, gaining up to 25 per cent discount on leisure activities plus discounts at hundreds of local businesses.
Customers joining between 1 and 4 October can benefit from 20 per cent discount on their first month of membership.
Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “We have introduced these new membership packages to give regular skaters value for money when accessing the fantastic facilities available at Telford Ice Rink.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for existing skaters to enhance their skills and for people who have always wanted to take up skating to get out on the ice without breaking the bank.”
Telford Ice Rink was given a £4m refurbishment in 2012 including major internal and external improvements carried out by contractor Morgan Sindall as part of the broader £250m redevelopment of the Southwater area of the town centre. It also included the opening of a new soft play area.
The rink, which first opened in 1985, is one of only 56 in the UK and is a facility of regional importance. Its ice pad is just under Olympic size and is open all year round for all ages and abilities.
Activities available include ice skating clubs, public skating sessions, birthday parties, crash courses, hockey training and disco sessions.
